The priorities of people according to Facebook.

I like many others are addicted to the new facebook craze. It's the easiest , and granted most fun way, to communicate with your friends no matter where they are. It also is a great utility to meet new people , share ideas , and debate issues.
Lately, after registering to several facebook groups I have noticed that groups of little importance seem to grow at a much slower rate then the ones of importance. For example , 50% of Canadians (the average of most polls) are opposed to Morgentaler being inducted into the Order of Canada but the facebook group: has only hit slightly above 12,000. While this in itself is not a low number , its the fact that other less important groups grow at a much faster rate. For example this group :

Canada vs. America - The count to one million

Just for Fun - Outlandish Statements
Size:
489,961 members
Although the later group has been around MUCH longer , the average per day membership is close to that of the Morgentaler group. Let's check out more large groups ;

I Dont care How Comfortable Crocs Are, You Look Like A Dumbass.

Common Interest - Philosophy
Size:
927,684 members

Petition against CBC's Hockey Night in Canada

Size:
24,152 members

From Facebook , It seems Canadians care more about Hockey Night in Canada , and people wearing Crocs then the issue of abortion rights.

....but you can't really blame anyone , Facebook is not meant to politically divide people. It is a fun social tool that is supposed to bring everyone together. From the current looks of it , it is doing its job.
